A loose babydoll silhouette in soft rayon, the Imperium is the best of our throw on and go dresses. The dress has a button placket, inseam pockets, and short sleeves, which can be rolled.

Caring for your hand crafted batik garment:

To wash, turn your garment inside out. Preferably hand wash or machine wash cold on a delicate cycle with similar colors. Use a very mild detergent.

Hang to dry. The dye will fade over time from exposure to direct sunlight.

Iron (inside out) on a low heat setting or steam to get rid of wrinkles.

Think twice before you wash - could you get another wear in before washing? Is it really time?

If in doubt, dry clean.

I wasn't sure about the material on a hot day but it was pretty comfortable. Lots of compliments. Also, useful pockets. Slight button gap in the chest area where I had to add a pin so if you're *****, just a heads up. I would definitely buy more of this dress style.
CanadaColor different in real life
Great cut and print. The fabric is lightweight but not see through. Loved it except the color was completely different in real life. I ordered it thinking it was blue or slightly purple blue based on online pictures but it is BRIGHT royal purple in real life. Exchanging it for a different color.
CanadaGreat shape, colour wasn’t what I was expecting.
I like the cut and fit of the dress. However, the colour is very different than I was expecting. Of course I realize there will be variation in hand made and hand dyed garments. However, based on all the photos (on different models and in different lighting conditions), I was expecting a mix of black and navy and/ or a dark royal blue. The dress I received is predominantly a bright purple colour, with small amounts of black throughout- very different than the photos. I’m not sure I would have ordered it if I had seen it beforehand. However, I do like the cut, fit and fabric, and return shipping is expensive and a hassle. I plan to try and dye it myself, as I’m much more comfortable in darker colours and blue/ navy vs purple.. hoping I can make it better and not worse!

I love this dress! Have already worn it multiple times. The print and fabric is gorgeous and it's super versatile and comfortable (pockets - hurray!). Can see it working just as well in colder weather with boots, chunky cardigan and coat. I'm a new fan of Osei Duro.
