Our Fall editorial is a collaboration between Spanish photographer Miguel Mira and Nigerian Ghanaian model Veso Golden, shot on location in Madrid. As a Pageant Queen, Veso brings a majestic vibe to Osei Duro's typically lowkey imagery, and we're loving the fresh drama. Read here what the artists have to say about the shoot, and about themselves.
What is your relationship to Osei-Duro? How did we meet?
Miguel: Last summer, I crossed paths with Molly while we were both chilling on a trip in Turkey. As soon as she mentioned the brand, I fell in love with the whole vibe of Osei Duro and how the brand engages with different artists.
What do you do, and how did you get started?
Miguel: I'm a photographer and visual artists. I started when I was 18 and since that moment, my artistic drive has become an inseparable part of who I am.
Veso: I am a model and entertainer here in Spain and i started when I got signed by the Metropolitan Model agency in Spain.

What do you love most about your work?
Miguel: Embracing the fluidity of creativity and the dynamic nature of differrent points of view. It's a process that encourages me to stay open-minded.
Veso: Trying new fashion and meeting new people.
What are you working on now?
Miguel: Currently, I've immersed myself in a remarkable documentary project that centers around my town, intricately exploring its profound connection to the rural tapestry of Spain. This project is not just a creative pursuit, but a heartfelt journey to uncover and celebrate the stories that have shaped this community. My hope is that, in the near future, I'll be able to present the world with a visual narrative that not only showcases the beauty and authenticity of this place.
Veso: Right now I am preparing for a international pageant happening in two months.
How has the collaboration experience been for you? Any insights or stories to share?
Miguel: My experience collaborating with Osei Duro has been delightful for me and my friend Marra Alcazar, a talented artist. I also had the chance to meet Veso during the photoshoot. Her presence added magic to the project.
Where do you find inspiration?
Veso: I draw the strength to keep doing great so that I can be exemplary to my fellow Africans and transgender models. It's my hope that they see my growth or hear my story to be able to have hope for a better future.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Veso: I wake up at 8:00 am, do a quick yoga, get ready for work and I have a bad habit of not breakfast haha. I later meet up with my friends or just watch a movie at home in the evenings.
Miguel: The idea of slipping into a predictable routine seems almost counterintuitive to my creative spirit. I've come to appreciate the beauty of unpredictability, and my days are a testament to this belief.
Describe your perfect day off.
Miguel: I would say go on a hike and spend time in nature like at the beach, surrounded by the laughter and shared stories of my friends.
What advice do you have to offer someone who is just starting out?
Miguel: My advice will be to cultivate patience.
Veso: Be authentic and believe in yourself always.
Where do you live and how does the landscape or cityscape influence your creativity?
Miguel: Currently, I am living in my hometown located in the province of Alicante. The slower pace of life here provides a welcomed contrast to the hustle and bustle of city living.
Veso: I live in Madrid, an international community. Most days I dress in African prints to warrant questions and find an opportunity to talk about my culture.
What are the top 3 places we should check out in your area?
Miguel: I highly recommend: Tabarca Island, The Calas from Alicante and The Old Quarries around La Romana in Alicante.
Veso: Wow. Madrid Center SOL. It has all the restaurants so if you love food. Toledo: it's a very historic place but please do not go in heels lol. Final place, COCA CASTLE.
What music are you loving right now?
Miguel: I'm currently listening to Latin artists like Kali Uchis, Arca, Sophie Castillo and Omar Apollo.
Veso: I am listening to Brown skin girl by Beyonce and I cant stop!
You’re hosting the dinner party of your dreams. Who is invited (anyone, dead or alive) and what’s for dinner?
Miguel: My partner, family and friends. I will have some good wine and fresh fish.
Veso: I am inviting my mother and I will be making her favorite, Jollof rice with chicken.
