Adele Tetangco / Co-Founder of Garmentory - Osei – Duro

Osei-Duro and Garmentory go all the way back, and we couldn't imagine a happier e-comm love affair. With Garmentory, Adele and co-founder Sunil Gowda pioneered a  horizontal online sales model, and we are constantly impressed with how well it works for both small brands and shoppers. Here, Adele dishes on her work, and on our relationship.

What do you do?

I'm Co-Founder of Garmentory and head of Merchandise + Brand.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Every day is always different. I try to start as early as I can so that I can stop right at 5pm and make sure I have family time. There needs to be a balance with home and work life which can be difficult at times.

What do you love most about your work?

I love that it's always different and that I get the opportunity to work with and meet so many amazing people on a daily basis.

What is your relationship to Osei Duro?

It's a personal one. I love Maryanne and Molly and everything they do!

What's your favorite Osei-Duro piece and why?

I love the pair of baby pants you made that I bought from One of a Few when my daughter was first born. They are the cutest. I'm saving them for her for when she gets older to use for her own kids.

Is there a memorable occasion or story where you've worn our clothing?

Osei-Duro was such a large part to the beginning stages of Garmentory. We were so lucky to partner with you guys when we were still small and growing. The Osei-Duro x The Lab collaboration – I always look back on this. It was such an amazing collection and it sold out so fast on Garmentory. I have a pair of those running tights from the collection. I think of how successful that launch was every time I wear them.

What advice do you have to offer someone who is just starting out?

Be patient with yourself and others around you. Creativity and success takes time, and that's ok =).

Describe your perfect day off.

Netflix. All. Damn. Day.

What are the top 3 things we should check out in Vancouver?

Rent a bike and ride around the seawall.
Go to Granville Island and rent a speed boat. The views are stunning.
Buntzen Lake >>> This is the definition of Super Natural British Columbia.

Is there any music you're especially into right now?

I've been listening to a lot of Luke Christopher. https://soundcloud.com/lukechristopher

You're hosting the dinner party of your dreams. Who is invited (anyone, dead or alive)?

My grandma.

And what's for dinner?

What we'd eat for breakfast when I was little. So just some spam and rice with a side of eggs.
