Another Osei-Duro Wedding!
It's been quite a year for weddings for us. This past weekend, our manager extraordinaire Martha Yurobo married her fiance, teacher Stephen Kum. The wedding was held in Martha's hometown of Kwadwo Nkansah, outside of Nkawkaw. When I started to look for the village on my phone's map, Martha laughed. "It's not on any maps!" She's right. Kwadwo Nkansah is a proper village. Nkawkaw is in the heart of the cocoa farming region of Ghana, and all the way out to the wedding all we saw was forests of cocoa trees. The village is full of harvested cocoa drying in the sun. The wedding was held outside, with a large crowd in attendance. Highlights for me included meeting Martha's parents, and of course her husband, a toddler dance contest, and most of all seeing Martha so totally happy. Congratulations to the lovely couple!
