Dresses are truly our bread and butter. Can’t say why really. One theory we have is that it’s a bit easier NOT to find something to wear with a wild print, so the comfy entry point to our brand of maximalist style for many people is one piece dressing. Dresses are our gateway drug maybe? Also our prints are distinctive, and they call attention. People like wearing something stand out like a handmade African print for special occasions - a wedding or a birthday. On those days, dresses make sense. You’re showing the proper decorum when you arrive in a dress. It’s celebratory, it’s fancy, it’s fun, it makes a statement. It’s also sustainable, that helps. You’ve bothered to come in an ethical dress!
Lots of info about what exactly an ethical dress means is stored here in our ABOUT section, which gets into process and impact and other nerdy sustainability things. As you likely know, Fair Trade is a certification. We don’t have that certification as it’s very expensive for a small brand to get through the certification process, but we do buy cotton fabric that is Fair Trade certified, as well as rayon fabric which is Lenzing certified, meaning it is harvested and processed up to a sustainability standard. So if these things matter to you, these might be the colorful dresses for you. If they don’t and you just wanna party all night in comfort, these might still be the colorful dresses for you.
