These generous baskets are part of a special holiday curation of gifts put together by co-founder Molly Keogh. Beloved West African items that she brings as gifts when traveling and uses in her own home.

Sourced by Osei-Duro from local artisans in Ghana, our Tote Basket is hand woven using local sustainable elephant grass. This popular basket-weaving technique comes from the Bolgatanga area in the far north of the country.  The handles are hand stitched with local goat leather.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Cleaning 1. Spot Clean Only: Use a damp cloth or sponge to gently wipe away any dirt or stains. Avoid soaking the basket in water, as this can weaken the raffia fibers.
2. Air Dry: If the basket becomes damp, allow it to air dry completely in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight to prevent fading or warping.
Storage 1. Keep Shape: When not in use, store your basket in a cool, dry place. Avoid placing heavy items on top of it, as this can cause distortion.
2. Avoid Moisture: Keep the basket away from excessive humidity or water, which can lead to mold or mildew.
Reshaping Distorted BasketsThe tote baskets shouldn’t distort in shipping but these ones will show up quite flat and you can easily reshape it:
1. Stuff with Fabric: Gently stuff the basket with clean, dry fabric (such as towels or old t-shirts) to help restore its shape. Make sure to fill it evenly to avoid adding pressure to one side.
2. Leave to Rest: Allow the stuffed basket to sit for 24-48 hours. This will help the fibers regain their original shape.
 3. Remove and Adjust: After the resting period, remove the fabric and check the basket’s shape. If necessary, repeat the stuffing process until you achieve the desired shape.

We fulfill all online orders from our distribution center in Colorado. We offer free shipping on all orders over USD$300. For all other orders please see below:

  • USA:  $8.00 first item, $4.00 each additional item.

  • Canada: USD$10.00 first item, USD$4.00 each additional item. 

  • Australia:  USD$10.00 first item, USD$4.00 each additional item.

  • UK:  USD$15.00 first item, USD$4.00 each additional item.

  • Rest of the world:  USD$17.00 first item, USD$4.00 each additional item.

We ship USPS to orders in the United States. All other countries we use DHL. We ship within 1-5 days of order time. If you have specific mailing needs or a rush, please get in touch when you order. All packages we ship are trackable.

All tax, customs and import duties will be levied by the customer’s local government. All such fees are the responsibility of the customer. This can range from 10%–40% of the order value, depending on the customer’s delivery address. We are not responsible for customs delays, duties or taxes on international shipments.
